That the Kedarnath is highest among the 12 Jyotirlingas. The present temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya. It is submitted that at the age of 32, Adi Shankaracharya ji retired to the Himalayas and is believed to have entered a cave near Kedarnath. He was never seen again and the cave that he entered is considered as his final resting place. Shankaracharya Samadhi, the grave of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, is one of the most popular religious/spiritual attractions. Located slightly behind the Kedarnath Temple, it is also one of the most visited places in Kedarnath by devotees.
It is submitted that The eight century Samadhi of Adi guru Shankaracharya ji completely washed away, two statue of Adi guru Shankaracharya ji a Shaptic Shivlinga and a Hanuman ji statue were swept away in the Kedarnath tragedy in 2013, it is pertain to state here that the same Samadhi of Adi guru Shankaracharya ji, Shaptic Shivlinga and a Hanuman ji statue are not re construct or restore so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that More than 5 years have passed away since June, 2013 when Kedarnath tragedy struck the valley. But Samadhi of Adi Jagatguru Shankracharya ji has not been rebuilt till now.
Under the circumstances, Ajay Gautam (HH) approached to the High Court of Uttrakhand and humbly prayed for Construction / Restoration Of Samadhi Of Adi Shankracharya Ji at earlier place near Kedarnath temple which was completely destroyed in the Kedarnath Tragedy in June, 2013.
It is submitted that the Hon’ble High Court on 10.10.2018 directed to the state to restore the Samadhi of Adi Shankracharya Ji positively within a period of one year from today at Kedarnath.
The District Administration is also directed to ensure that the local traditional hill architecture is taken into consideration while repairing/restoring the Samadhi of Adi Shankracharya Ji and also to ensure that the architecture merges with the surrounding landscape
